Advanced Power is an independent, wholly owned Australian Company with a reputation for quality performance and product innovation. The company was formed in 1984 and, at the time, manufactured a range of portable and stationary generating sets.

Steady growth has seen the Company expand its manufacturing base and offer an increasing number of products and services to customers throughout Australia, and many export markets.

Today, our products and expertise embrace the design and installation of dedicated control systems based on micro-processor technology.

We also offer an installation service for diesel and gas generating sets, and this includes acoustic treatment advice, fuel system recommendations and complete turn-key operations with project management.

Our expertise in silenced petrol and diesel generating sets is constantly sought after, and we design equipment specifically for the Australian Department of Defence.

In addition, Advanced Power can provide 24 hour maintenance support, Computer Aided Design (CAD) of products and systems, and deliver custom and purpose built products for a wide range of applications.

Our independence enables us to be impartial about the selection of critical components (such as engines, alternators, batteries, acoustic and control equipment) thus ensuring that the most suitable components are used for each application.

In the face of extremely tough competition, Advanced Power was awarded an Australian Department of Defence contract for 920 special 2.5kVA diesel sets with very strict requirements for alternator design and digital indication meters with multi-functionality.

The Department of Defence requested that we apply our innovative design and unique control systems in building a range of rugged militarised control systems which meet stringent Defence Force requirements for powering sensitive computer and radar equipment. This contract has since been completed and a spare parts and service facility has been set up to support the equipment for its 15 year life.

Department of Defence manufacturing is carried out to a special quality assurance specification and is independently audited by the Department of Defence.

Advanced Power is the preferred supplier to the Australian Department of Defence.

Advanced Power is a leading installer of prime and standby power systems througout Australia, with many of the country's major mines, landmarks and buildings having Advanced Power installations. The Sydney Harbour Tunnel and Chifley Square in Sydney, Cape Flattery Silicon Mine, Sydney Airport, Prince Of Wales Hospital are just a few of the major installations and ongoing maintenance projects undertaken by Advanced Power.

Our significant investment in Research and Development, together with our skills in the application of CAD, means that we are now recognised in Australia as the undisputed leader in the design and development of new control systems and technology to meet the special needs of such projects.

Advanced Power's record in export has been outstanding. Export success has been achieved in China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Middle East, Pacific Islands, New Zealand and New Guinea.

Generating sets exported to China include petrol generating sets for use by the Chinese military and 4:1 portable workshop.

Products exported include petrol and diesel generating sets, welders and larger stationary diesel sets and control systems. Outputs are available in 50 or 60 cycle and various single and three phase voltages.
